Let me tell you a little something about me. My name is Michael and I eat, sleep and breathe fashion (pardon the cliché).
From a very young age I knew I wanted to work in the fashion industry in some sort of way… That or be an actor! I can remember at age four, asking my mother to save her old magazines and catalogues so that I could cut out the underwear models and dress them up in outfits from the selection on offer.
I studied Fashion Design at college and went on to work for brands such as French Connection, ALLSAINTS, Selfridges, Harrods and Levi’s. My time at each brand taught me a lot about fabrics, finishes, shapes and styling. Working as a part time sales assistant progressed into Visual Merchandising and Management. For the past 7 years I have been working as a Visual Merchandiser and stylist.
With boyinbreton.com I wanted it to be more than a ‘Outfit of the day’ blog. I aim to inspire, inform and engage with you all on a variety of topics from men’s fashion, to where to grab the best coffee! My friends have always commented on my style, valued my input and opinions and have encouraged me to start up this website.
Oh and my love of a Breton stripe also comes from a very early age. My mother says I have “always been drawn to this pattern” whenever she would allow me to dress myself as a child. Some things you never grow tired of…
