After the popularity of the last ‘Places to go’ post that I did, I decided to share a few more of my favourite places that I have been to and highly recommend you check out!
Located a short walk from Holborn/Covent Garden or Charing Cross stations, Radio Rooftop Bar is a hidden gem located 10 floors up on top of the ME Hotel. Once up in the express elevator, you are guaranteed some stunning views of the London skyline, both night and day. The cocktail list is pretty extensive, a little pricey but you’re paying for the view! I’ve been here a couple of times for lunch and evening drinks and have always had a great experience. TOP TIP: Call ahead to see how busy it is as you may be asked to wait in the reception bar until it becomes a little less crowded!
My friends and I frequent this place quite regularly for after work drinks for a debrief on our weekly events. The atmosphere in here is really chilled and you can have a decent conversation without having to raise your voice over super loud music and noisy drinkers. The interior is minimal and striking. The divine cocktails and menu is designed by in-house restaurant Hoi Polloi which is located just through the adjoining coffee shop! The Ace Hotel bar attracts a lot of people in the creative industries; designers, artists, graphic designers etc so don’t be too surprised to see someone sipping on a Bloody Mary whilst tapping away on their Mac Book!
Located a short walk away from The Ace Hotel and just on Hoxton Square – Happiness Forgets is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch. Priding themselves on High-End Cocktails and a ‘No Wallies’ policy makes this a great place for a date or to catch-up with friends. The little details are what makes this basement bar so special… keep you eyes peeled!
Nordic Bakery – (Several locations)
Fancy a coffee and pastry whilst catching up on your emails? Head into one of several Nordic Bakery locations for some of the tastiest pastries around. All items are based on genuine Nordic recipes and ingredients. Offering a selection of Rye bread sandwiches, hearty cinnamon buns and cakes and of course, the odd cold-pressed juice or two!
No. 32 The Old Town – Clapham Old Town
Located just next to Clapham Common, and in the more quaint Old Town, No 32 is a beautiful little find for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks. I am in love with the interior of this place – industrial pendant lamps, lush velvet couches and even an original fireplace on the upstairs bar (politely pointed out by a neon sign!) The food here is to die for, so I highly recommend grabbing something to go with your Bloody Mary on a Sunday afternoon!
