With a new year most people set resolutions to better themselves in some way: drink less, exercise more, save money… You know the sort of thing I’m talking about.
For me, like most people, I tend not to stick to these after a couple of weeks… I admit it, I’m one of those terrible people who talk myself into giving up chocolate and to start running and then it all seems just like a little bit too much of a change. Instead I have chosen a couple of New Year Style Resolutions to stick to for 2016.
On first glance when opening the doors of my wardrobe you’d probably think you’d suddenly gone colour-blind. I adore a monochrome palette with accents of navy, camel and at real push – burgundy.
I haven’t really felt very comfortable wearing bright colours of the years – so, I am going to spend a little time figuring out what colours work for my skin tone and hair colouring and slowly introduce them into my wardrobe.
Striped? I’ll take it! Polka dot? Why not! Paisley, check or houndstooth… There’s a little more hesitance on these types of prints. I find that Breton stripes and polka dots are the most versatile and easy prints to work with whereas anything else won’t fit into my wardrobe. Spring/Summer is all about bold prints and it’s about time I bought a few pieces to liven up my look.
