Autumn collections are starting to hit stores and whilst we still enjoy the last of the summer sun we can look ahead at what the five must-haves for the upcoming season are. The runways were abundant with bold prints, throwback Shearling and eye catching shoes.
We extend the 90’s nostalgia by paying homage to rock’n’rollers and mods of the late 80’s and early 90’s, where fashion was laid back but practical. Bleached denim and a classic parka are the perfect investment pieces for this trend.
PIN IT DOWN
The trend of sew-on patches and pins has been building momentum slowly and breaks through this season. No longer for Scouts and school children, the patches and pins have become a symbol of self expression and individualism. Take a classic denim trucker jacket and get to work choosing designs that express your personality. The shops are awash with pre-made clothes that you use as a starting point and build up bit by bit.
The 70s was huge last FW15 and we see it continue through to this winter. Shearling and leather jackets are a must-have for any style conscious guy looking to defeat the cold. Whislt real leather and shearling can be mega pricey, the high street have some fantasic faux versions for a fraction of the price. Team with a zip-up sweatshirt, cropped trousers and chunky lace-up shoes for an urban chic look.
BIG AND BOLD PRINTS
Bigger is better when it comes to prints on shirting this season. Floral, Animal, Camo and Abstract are just some of the choices to pick from. Be sure to let the shirt do the talking and team it with simple, refined garments. Here I have teamed the print shirt with a suit and sleek sneakers for maximum effect.
