It’s pretty safe to say that now really is the time to hit the shops and treat yourself to some smart pieces for the bleak winter ahead. As the temperature drops and autumn fades into winter, you don’t have to trade in style for practicality.
The idea of wearing Suede in winter will send shivers of horror down the backs of some! Now, I’m not recommending you wear a suede jacket on your morning commute in the snow, but, rather to wear it layered or to evening occasions that call for something a little dressier.
Suede is a type of leather, usually with a slightly rougher feel which known as ‘nap’. Due to it’s open pores and textured nature, suede can become dirty and stain easily if not cared for properly.
Check out my favourites and some suggestions on different ways of wearing, below:
REISS | Wear this beautiful western shirt inspired jacket with a chambray shirt, grey wool trousers and white sneakers for a crisp, smart look.
TED BAKER | This zip-up bomber jacket looks great when worn with a black roll neck, black jeans and boots. Layer with a camel-coloured coat for a chic touch.
ENLIST | Exclusive to Mr Porter, this blue offering elevates a timeless classic and packs a punch. Keep the rest of your outfit simple – a white shirt, black trousers and brogues and let this bad boy do the talking.
OLIVER SPENCER | This navy offering from one of my favourite brands, Oliver Spencer, is a twist on the normal hues that leather and suede is offered. Team with a denim jacket, breton t-shirt, navy chinos and chelsea boots.
SELECTED HOMME | Selected Homme are renowned for their minimalistic approach to menswear with clean lines and attention to fit. This blazer inspired piece is sure to turn heads. Wear on top of a prince of wales check suit with a knitted t-shirt for major style props.
