There are few items a man will wear quite as much as he does a watch, which is why it is wise to invest in a timeless classic that will rise above trends.
Watches are a big business with something for everyone, whatever your budget may be -ranging from a few pounds all the way to the hundreds of thousands and even millions! For some they use their watches as a symbol of their status, much like flash cars or big houses – there more expensive the watch; the more successful and attractive they are.
I have never really worn a watch as my job is so hands-on and risk damaging or breaking it on a daily basis… it is only the last few years that I started to eye them up as an investment piece to compliment my other wardrobe accessory essentials; good shoes, sunglasses, bag and belt!
Rotary watches very kindly reached out and asked if I’d like to try out one of their watches and review it.
I love brands that are rich in history and synonymous with quality. I’ve seen and heard of Rotary over the years but never really understood just how special the brand and their watches are. The company is the oldest family-owned and run Swiss watch maker, having been founded in 1885.
The founder, Moise Dreyfuss was dedicated to creating beautiful watches with timeless elegance. His attention to detail and insistence on first class personal service ensured the business grew quickly. Within 12 years of the founding of the company success led to the opening of a UK office.
In 1925 the now famous winged Rotary logo was introduced and after the war, under the leadership of Teddy Dreyfuss, the brand developed further, with innovative watches, sophisticated marketing and some powerful advertising campaigns.
Rotary specialises in designing affordably stylish timepieces, blending the ‘old with the new’ and the ‘contemporary with the classic’ to achieve a distinctive range of watches. What’s also pretty special about the brand is they offer a lifetime guarantee too, ensuring you and your watch are in perfect synchronicity wherever and whatever you get up to. Now that’s what I call outstanding service!
I chose this beautiful ‘Tradition’ style with rose gold plated hardware and an imitation Alligator leather strap. With this being my first watch in a very long time I wanted a style where the design is elegant, masculine and appropriate to wear for any occasion – whether for work or play. The rose gold hardware is so on trend with it being the metal of the moment for everything from jewellery to paperclips!
The size of the watch face is just right, not too small and dainty and not too ‘large and in charge’ so that my wrist is weighed down! I’ve been wearing it for a couple of weeks now and am fast becoming addicted to wearing a watch. It’s been a real treat not having to reach for my phone to check the date and time!
So guys, if you are looking for a watch that ticks all boxes; design, durability and price then I really do recommend checking out Rotary.
Do you guys already own a watch from Rotary? Are you even a watch wearer or do you rely on your phone now for the time and date? Let me know in the comments or tweeting me @boyinbreton
