THE 4 ITEM SERIES: VELVET.

I’m an advocate of easy, simplistic dressing. That’s why I’ve put together a guide on how to look incredibly suave with only a handful of key pieces.

The ‘4 ITEMS SERIES’ aims to give you quick and affordable styling ideas for many different scenarios and will sometimes focus on a certain wardrobe category. As we approach peak party season this winter, I’ll be sharing how to wear one of this seasons key trends: Velvet.

Velvet is an easy way to add decadence and texture into your wardrobe. At first, Velvet & Velour were reserved for Juicy Couture tracksuits and the occasional trim on a jacket only. Now, it’s a full on, no apologies trend in menswear.

Wear a velvet suit jacket with a rollneck for a relaxed take on formal dressing this festive season. Pair with checked pattern trousers and tassel loafers to complete the look. Wear a complete velvet suit with a white shirt and bow-tie if the occasion calls for it.

For those more casual days this winter, wear a statement overcoat with a velvet tracktop to stay warm whilst remaining incredibly stylish. Team with a pair of raw selvedge jeans and high top sneakers for boyish charm.

Say hello to your new everyday go-to outfit. The velvet trousers add a touch of understated luxury when partnered with wardrobe classics, the stripe top and utilitarian inspired denim overshirt. Better yet – this outfit will transition nicely from winter into spring.
