When coming up with interiors posts, it’s always the easiest to focus on the living room and bedroom. They are the most obvious choices to choose when looking to express ourselves in a room as we tend to spend most of our time between these two rooms. However, the bathroom is a pretty important place too and often gets overlooked!
For me, the bathroom is a place that should be a tranquil retreat – it’s not just a room for brushing your teeth and washing it. It should be somewhere you can walk into first thing in the morning and feel ready to take on the day ahead, or after coming home from a long day somewhere you can wash the stresses away and relax before climbing into bed.
If you are lucky enough to own your property the possibilities of a bathroom reset are endless (budget depending), but if like me, you are renting a place, our options are a little more limited. That’s not to say there aren’t a few tips & tricks to get the bathroom looking tip-top.
Have a look and read through my easy suggestions below for resetting your bathroom this year:
H&M Jute Laundry Basket There’s nothing worse than wet towels hanging over the tops of doors or left crumpled up at the bottom of the bathtub/shower. Keep your bathroom looking tidy with this simple jute style from good ol’ H&M Home.
The White Company ‘Linen’ Diffuser One of the latest additions to The White Company’s expanding fragrance library, ‘Linen’ is a delightful blend of green eucalyptus, fresh rose and neroli. Uplifting and breezy, this diffuser will keep your bathroom smelling fab for weeks!
Soho Home Large Bath Mat Time to throw out that threadbare bath mat you’ve been using for the past year or so and time to treat yourself to a luxurious new one from Soho Home.
La Redoute ‘Ayumi’ Towel Rack Hang your beautiful new towels to dry on this stylish and handy towel rack from La Redoute. It also comes in handy to dry clothes on too if you run out of space on the clothes horse *wink*
Neptune ‘Alderney’ Conical Hurricane Vase Fresh flowers are lovely – but in the bathroom? Not so practical. Use this hurricane vase for simple stems such as Eucalyptus, Monstera leaves or even use it for a pillar candle.
French Connection Leaf Framed Print Add a touch of greenery to the space to brighten it up, particularly if you have trouble keeping plants alive! Choose prints that are of nature or large, open landscapes.
Bahne Rectangular Marble Tray Store your fragrances, lotions, potions and everything else you use on a daily basis in this beautifully stylish marble tray.
Westelm Mid Century Legged Planter If you have enough space in your bathroom, this legged planter is fantastic for showcasing some wonderful greenery. Try planting a fern or Philodendron, which are both resilient and easy on the eye.
What did you think of the bathroom reset? Is the bathroom somewhere you treat as a hub of relaxation or is it just a functional room for you? Let me know by commenting on this post or tweeting me @boyinbreton
